Board of Directors

President – Chris Knudsen

Chris Knudsen is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in international business. At a young age, Mr. Knudsen’s entrepreneurial inclinations led him to build his own computer manufacturing business in California and then expand to Singapore. Mr. Knudsen then transitioned from manufacturing computer hardware to developing software in the mid-90s. At which time he founded RFQ Solutions, an early Internet innovation for linking the manufacturing sector of commerce. Over the years, Mr. Knudsen’s innate and avid interest in software technology advances has led him to develop, software for managing businesses, tracking stock markets, compiling databases, and e-commerce websites. His latest interests have been in development of search engine optimization, digital marketing, and open-source technology.

Secretary – Edward Tsai

Edward Tsai is currently employed as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he consults in healthcare practice. His experience within the healthcare industry includes consulting for both commercial and non-profit organizations where he has gained an expertise in the areas of providers, payers, and pharmaceutical / life sciences. Mr. Tsai is motived by a strong interest in the role social innovation plays within healthcare markets. He holds masters degrees in both business administration from Claremont Graduate University and public health from University of California, Los Angeles.

Treasurer – Sahand Mirzahossein

Sahand Mirzahossein completed his studies in biology at the University of California, San Diego in 2003 and began working as a research associate in the biological research field at a non-profit institute. In 2010, he received an International MBA from the University of San Diego and an MBA from WHU - the Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany as part of a dual-degree program. He is currently employed with the global consulting firm Simon-Kucher & Partners. Mr. Mirzahossein has expertise in Strategy & Innovation, Marketing, and Pricing both domestic and international.

Dr. Edina Martinez

Dr. Edina Martinez has been a resident of the Pomona community for 24 years. She has been involved in the mental health community of the Los Angeles County area since her graduation with a doctorate in psychology at California School of Professional Psychology in 2003. Dr. Martinez began working at Enki Health and Research Systems Inc. where she progressively held the positions of Clinician, Unit Coordinator, and Clinic Manager. Dr. Martinez is currently employed at Prototypes Inc. as Manager overseeing CalWORKs, Homeless CalWORKs, GROW, and part of the children's programming.  In addition to her work in the mental health community, Dr. Martinez has also been a four year Community Governing Member of the TriCity Mental Health Board. She has a significant amount of community knowledge and has cultivated community relationships over 9 years of service. Dr. Martinez has a strong commitment to the quality of mental health services available to the public.


Executive Director – Björn Knudsen

Björn Knudsen has his Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California where he specialized in community organization, planning, and administration.  Following receiving his masters in 2007, Mr. Knudsen moved to London, England and obtained a post-graduate certification in International Social Work from the same university.  Mr. Knudsen has had relevant experience in many different fields of social work including: foster care and adoptions in Southern California, mental health treatment and assessment in the United Kingdom, developmentally disabled, and internships in both the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and Santa Monica City Government.  In addition to this experience, Mr. Knudsen studied social problems while obtaining his bachelor of arts in sociology from California State University Long Beach.  Finally, Mr. Knudsen has had over 15 years of experience installing various computer hardware components and working with an array of software programs on multiple operating systems.
